Children affected by sexual violence should access core health and social welfare support, and both services should work together to build a case that can be referred to the justice system.  Ensuring that children receive the support they need and that perpetrators are brought to justice requires a strong referral pathway within and across sectors.  In order to address this gap, in 2016 AIDSFree developed Strengthening Linkages between Clinical and Social Services for Children and Adolescents who Have Experiences Sexual Violence: A Companion Guide.  The Coordinating Comprehensive Care for Children (4Children) project was asked to pilot the use of the Companion Guide in Kenya and Uganda.

This webinar shares the experience of 4Children in piloting the Companion Guide and bringing together key stakeholders across the health, social services and justice sector to develop contextualized approaches and job aides for stronger referral pathways.

Moderator:

Siân Long, Senior Technical Adviser on Violence Against Children, 4Children
